Will the World End in 2012? By Dr. Raymond C. Hundley

Dr. Raymond C. Hundley’s book, Will the World End in 2012? A Christian Guide to the Question Everyone’s Asking explores ten of the most popular theories in the 2021 hysteria. To begin with, Dr. Hundley give an in depth introduction on all the various doomsday theories. The book is then divided up, devoting one chapter to each of the ten theories that Dr. Hundley addresses. Each chapter begins with a present day scenario that illustrates the theory presented in the chapter. The bulk of each chapter gives the history of the theory and arguments for and against the validity of the theory. Ending each chapter is a conclusion that sums up the argument of the theory.

I found this book to be very informative. It explores variations of the 2012 doomsday predictions in a way that is very easy to read and understand. I have tried to stay away from all the 2012 prediction stuff myself, but found this book very good at presenting both sides of the story. So often you will find media only presenting one side of the argument as to sell you on their way of looking at things. This book enabled me to read and come to my own conclusions about each theory. I would recommend this book to any Christian looking to learn more about the doomsday theories concerning 2012.

Sunsets

Have you ever watched the sunset below the clouds?

I had the opportunity to when I was in Hawaii ten years ago. We stayed on Maui and one day ventured up to Haleakala. For those of you unfamiliar with Maui, Haleakala is a volcano on the island. Once we were up there we decided to stay and watch the sunset. Well, that particular day, I had decided to wear jeans and for some unknown reason had a lightweight jacket with me. Only in Hawaii do public roads go through the middle of unfenced cow fields. There would be fences around the fields, but no fence to keep the cows out of the road. How did they keep the cows from escaping out of the fence. Well where the road passed through the fence and into the fields, they had what is called cattle guards up at the entrance to the fields. Basically it is a grate that can be driven over, but cows will not cross it due to the gaps in the grate. Once we reached the crater, I got sick due to the high altitude and had to endure being mocked by my younger brother for getting sick. But that is what happens when you decide to venture ten thousand feet above sea level. (That is almost two miles above the ocean!) It never occurred to anyone that once the sun set, that it would get cold. Well, it did. The temperature dropped nearly twenty degrees in just a few minutes after the sun dropped below the clouds. Turned out that I was the only one who did not end up freezing my rear off. While we were up there we took quite a few pictures, however, this is one of my favorites. The sun was just about to drop below the clouds when this picture was snapped. I think that I will always remember that day.

Hi... This is my first blog ever. I am a single mother who works full time. Having time to blog has never been something I have fortunate enough to have.
